Choir Concert at Guardian Angels

Emily had her first concert since joining Choir in January at the Guardian Angel's Assisted Living facility.  They did a "Teddy Bear" and "American Girl Doll" Tea party.  One was at 1:00, the other at 3:00.  I volunteered to host a table, which consisted of my decorating the table, and providing the napkins, tea pot, plates, cups, etc.
It turned out to be a really fun day, and I think she really enjoyed it.  I know we love that her grandparents, aunts/uncle are so supportive of her and the hard work these kids put into these things.  And, Kaitlyn decided she wants to check out the choir, so she may be joining it soon, too!
Here are a few pics of the day~

Our Trip to the Wabasha Eagle Center~

Oh, what a fun day it was!  The ride there and the ride home?  Not so much.  But once we got there, we had a really nice time.  The weather was beautiful, the sky blue, and we got up close and personal with some Eagles.  Some of God's majestic creatures.  They are amazing to watch, to listen to, to learn about.
After that, we drove to a small store/BBQ joint called JJ's and ate some BBQ for lunch.  We also went to this huge toy store and each kid picked out one small thing to bring home with them, and we brought home some fudge as well.  It was a great way to spend a day with the kids while they are on Spring Break.  Enjoy the pics, I think they're great!

You lookin at me?

They make this awesome "warning" sound when they see other birds...up to 3 miles away!!

Be not anxious~

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

I am laying my burdens on you, Lord.  I trust in you.  I know that your love is pure, and your knowledge is far superior to what I know and understand.  My "human" self wants to kick, scream, and be anxious, to find the answers, to know all the answers.  But I have learned, albeit the hard way, that it never works when you do that.

That's why this time, I am leaving my burdens, my fears, my anxious heart in Your hands.
I can't think of a safer place for me to be.

I lift my son to you, Oh Lord.  Protect him, love him, lead him to you.
Bring him to where he needs to be in order for his light to shine.

Amen.

Don't you ever smile, at a crocodile!

Miss Emily is doing Peter Pan, and she is going to be Tick Tock the Croc!
She gets to sing a duet, and we are getting excited.  First practice was last night, and I am going to stage manage again as well.  Its such a great group of people, and I am so happy we found this positive past time!

Emily is also going to be singing two acapella solo's at a German Festival in May.  She will be dressed as Little Red Riding Hood.  She is loving choir, her voice lessons, and now another play to add to her resume!  :)
She will also be trying out for Annie in the summer, which, in my opinion, will be the best one yet, only because I LOVE the production of Annie.

Caleb is getting geared up for baseball starting up in April, and he has a new bat he got for Christmas to start out right.  He is improving daily on his reading ability, and is up to grade level now!  I am so proud of him.  He's been working hard at it.

Jon is taking his drivers test in April.  He is also going to be going to prom this year, his junior year....wow...where does the time go.  He's such a neat young man.  He has a sound head on his shoulders, and I couldn't be more proud of him.

Mike is working part time, and wrapping him in prayer is what is best for him at this point in his life.  I have given him over to our Heavenly Father, and I know that no matter what it will be OK.

Just a quick update.

Have a great day!  Spring is right around the corner!

Today I remember Danny~

It's been Four years ago today that you passed away, Danny.  We will be celebrating James 5th birthday on Sunday.  Your lil man is starting Kindergarten in the Fall.  I can hardly believe how time seems to fly by so fast.
I hold on to so many memories, as its all we have now.  I remember you as super man with the curl on your forehead.  I remember how scared you were of the "Hay Monster", and I remember when I spit in your mouth...by accident of course!
I remember holding you as an infant, so fascinated by your butter hair.  Your love of music, your love of cooking, getting that turkey that one year in SD.  I could go on and on as you left us with so many stories, so many memories to cherish and hold safely within our hearts and minds.

So today, I just want you to know you're still missed.  And still loved so very much.

I can't wait until we get to all be together as a family again.

I love you,
Kristy
