Memorial Day 2012
We went to Brainerd and spent some time at the cemetery to visit Danny, and sang Happy Birthday to him on Sunday. We spent some time at Sami's singing some Beatles tunes, petting bunnies, chasing goats, and grilling burgers. On Monday I took the kids to the Mississippi River to feed the ducks and geese, and see the waterfall. I also drove them through my old neighborhood, and walked down a trail leading to the Mississippi River again. It was a quiet, peaceful day.

Kids -n- other stuff~
Here are some pics I took of the kids while Michael was home this weekend, some random pics of my yard, pics of Emily before she went to Chanhassen Dinner Theater with her Grandma Sandy, and some pictures of the band, Mostly Cash that played at a benefit for the family of a fireman that passed away in his sleep. Its an interesting thing, this band, because the lead singer, Mike is Jon's great uncle, and the guitar player is Michael's dad, Nathan. Michael got to jam with them at the benefit, and he had a great time. He is a musical genius.
It was a nice time, and together, everyone was able to raise over $10,000 for this family!!!! AND......I won a super nice leather recliner chair. I have NEVER won anything in my life...now...where to put it...
anyway, enjoy the pics of my beautiful, talented family, friends, and yard!

Mother's Day 2012
Had a nice Mother's Day. Spent it at my sister's house with Jon, Caleb, Emily, Mom, Dad, Lisa, Josh, Kaitlyn, Dane, Abby, Sami, James, and our good family friend, Sheri. We ate Italian food, Strawberry Shortcake, Ice Cream Sundae's and it was full of laughter. I am so grateful to my family, and I just love them so much. Jon gave me a beautiful card, some candles, and some body lotion/wash. Emily gave me a poem and a homemade scarf. Caleb gave me a poetry book on Mother's and a homemade card. Troy gave me a really nice card as well. Emily attempted to make me a vanilla microwaveable cake, but it ended up tasting like fish! Not sure why, but it did. Like I told her, its the thought that counts. She also made a homemade card and teddy bear for our friend, Sheri. It touched her deeply, which in turn touched us all. Thank you God for my family, and yes, that includes Sheri.

Busy livin life....breathing...one moment at a time...
That's my boy pitching in baseball. He has quite the arm! I must say I was impressed with his ability. Life has been beyond insanely crazy lately. This is the last weekend of Emily's play, and that is going to free up so much time I won't even know what to do with spare moments anymore!! In the next 3 days, we have 5 performances to go to. She has to be to each performance an hour early, which means essentially Saturday and Sunday we will be gone from around 12:30 to after 10:00 each night.....I've said it before, I'll say it again...so proud of her. So much stamina she has.
I am proud of Caleb, too! I finally got to watch him practice at baseball and was amazed by his pitching ability. He is an athlete. Its in his blood. Its who he is. He is very competitive. He works and plays hard. His first game is tonight, and its "under the lights" so he is excited for that. Let's hope the weather holds out so he can...I remember last year....he wore that uniform for weeks before he actually could play a game or anything because of all the crappy weather!! So here's hoping for NO RAIN until AFTER his game tonight!!! I am hoping to sneak out of Emily's dealio for a while tonight so I can run to the park and see him. He expressed that it seems like all I care about lately are my 2 jobs and Emily's play...OUCH. I am grateful the play is almost done and I can focus on watching Caleb and making him feel important too.
Well...just a quick check in. Hope all is well with whoever may find the time to read this.
